Members present- Paula Santa, Susan Kaczmarek, Rita Woeste, Doug Byers, Doug Bloss, Mary Ann Heft, Barb Letcher, Craig Little, Aly De Angelo, Alice Schweihofer
Alice Schweihofer- Amanda Mas will be the new assistance Hall Director.
Sept. 18 – Move in day
Sept. 19- Convocation-SSP will go as a group
Sept, 20- All Hall Meeting
- BBQ from 4-6 pm
- Stadium- beginning at 7 pm
- Spring quarter Scholars’ East had a G.P.A. of 3.29
Scholars’ West had a G.P.A of 3.21
- Currently there are some vacancies; however the halls are expected to be full by the start of fall quarter
- Approximately 33 students are returning to SSP
Craig Little- OSUAA report
- ALC this year will be an all day conference
- lunch is on your own
- wine reception is optional
- no award ceremony
- each society or club may send two representatives to ALC
- Founder’s Day-
- Sept 17, 1873 was first day of class at OSU. In honor of that day, think
about doing a community service project.
- On facebook, please change your profile to the “block O”
- start Sept.17 and run through first week of class
- all students and alumni are asked to do this
- Goals-
1. 50% satisfaction with engagement with the university
2. Double the number of donors by 2016. Current there are 120,000 donors
Alumni Hockey Night
- January 13th against Michigan
- February 4th against Michigan State
President’s report
- We need to select officers for next year
- Susan and Mary Ann will attend ALC this year
- Order forms will be made available at the annual meeting for “The Ladies that Lived in the Shoe” t-shirts
- We should ask recent SSP grads to become board members
- Care package dates

Newsletter- will be sent out after the annual meeting
Annual Meeting-
- Each attendee should bring two names and addresses for people who lived in the dorm. For each name submitted, the attendee will have a raffle ticket entered for prizes
- This year’s meeting will be at LAR- the old Lane Ave Holiday Inn
- Attendees will need their confirmation to enter, and a wrist band for the after game tailgate.
- University Catering will cater lunch. Pizza TBA.
- After game tailgate will be paid for through the Founders’ Fund.
Membership- currently 75 members
Social
Hockey Game
- The game will be February 4, 2012 .The game will be against Michigan State.
- RSVP for the tailgate with OSUAA
- two weeks before game, final count to Craig Little.
- Archie Griffin will be there, as well as a Blue Jackets team member.
- We are reserving 25 spots.
Ovarian Cancer walk
- A team of alumni members will participate

Student Report-
Chicago Trip - Students participated in community service
-attended Cubs’ Game, Blue Man Group concert
-Visited Navy Pier, former Sears’ Tower
Escapade - students enjoyed the dance held in the Huntington Club
-dinner held before the dance for both houses
-students had a great time
Cookout - the students from both houses held a cookout
Hall Director- Amanda Mas will be the new Assistant Hall Director
- Near full capacity for next year
- Managers named for next year are Rachel Switlic, Louise Jones, Gary
- RAs Melvin Aveola, Glenn Testin
President’s Report
- ALC is Sept. 23, 2011. A motion was made to pay for two board members to attend ALC.
Motion passed. Susan and Paula have expressed interest in attending.
- Craig Little from the OSUAA would like to feature an article about the Stadium Scholarship
Alumni Society in the Nov/Dec issue of the OSUAA magazine. A suggestion was made to
have Bob Beasley, stadium alum and former board member to write the article.
Treasurer’s Report
- Football tickets have been paid for.
- $211 for today’s care packages, $230 for pizza and pop
- Rita is being reimbursed for the pizza
- Rita will send the board guide lines for reimbursements
- We have not sold all of the football tickets allotted to us.
Newsletter- deadline for articles is June 24, 2011. Articles should be submitted to Doug Bloss.

Membership- Rita sent football flyer w/membership application.

Scholarship- Burwick Manor was the caterer.
- Cost was $24.84 per person which included $16 per meal and room rental.
- 27 attendees which include award winner, parents, friends, alumni, students and staff.
- Guest speaker was the curator of the Orton Hall Geological Museum.
Social- Barb is looking into possible alumni activities such as zip lining, Clippers game.
- Only 10 tickets were sold for the OSU baseball game.

Board Meeting/Care Packages
December 5, 2010
Scholars’ West

Board Members Present- Paula Santa, Kristy Mount, Rita Woeste, Susan Kaczmarek, Doug Byers, Doug Bloss, Barbara Letcher, Mary Ann Heft, Doug Eck, Taris Mullins, Alice Schweihofer, students
A motion was made to pass the minutes from the last meeting. Motion was seconded. The minutes passed as written.
Student Report-
1. The students are seeking funding of $1000 for yearbooks. They will be requesting grants
from other sources. Therefore, the students are requesting a grant of $500 from the board.

2. The students entered a float into the Homecoming Parade.
3. The student retreat went well.
President’s Report- Presented by Paula Santa
1. Men’s basketball -will be December 12, 2010. The society has a block of tickets. Tickets are $18 a piece. Contact Rita Woeste for tickets. Game time is at 12:00 p.m. at St. John’s Arena.
2. Men’s Hockey - The hockey game is January 22, 2011. We have a limited number of tailgate tickets for the OSUAA tailgate before the game. The OSUAA has asked each society participating in the tailgate to pay $25 for help cover the cost of the tailgate. This is in addition to the cost of the tailgate tickets. We have 30 tickets available for the tailgate.
3. Bowl Game Tickets- As a society, we have the opportunity to purchase a block of Bowl Game tickets. Tickets are approximately $140-$150 a piece. We must purchase a minimum block of 20 tickets. Ticket purchasers must be a member of the OSUAA or Stadium Scholarship Alumni Society.
4. Meeting Schedule- At this point in time, future meetings will be on Thursdays. Thursday meetings will be in Scholars’ East, and Sunday Meetings/Care Packages will be in Scholars’ West.
5. Please have your 2011 expense budget to Paula by December 17, 2010. Please indicate which endowment the funds will need to come from.

1. We have two new memberships since the annual meeting.
Scholarship Report- Presented by Doug Byers
1. No report
2. Alice Schweihofer suggested that the information for the scholarship applications go out earlier. The actual interviews and awarding can be done as usual.
3. It was also suggested that information regarding the alumni scholarships go into the student newsletter.
Newsletter- Presented by Doug Bloss
1. The newsletter has the name Stadium Scholarship Dormitory Alumni Society Association on it. Doug stated that the constitution has our name listed as such. The name of the society is being clarified by Susan.
*after checking the new constitution the name should read as follows:” Stadium Scholarship Alumni Society.” The name “Stadium Scholarship Dormitories Alumni Society Association” is the name of the society in the original constitution.
2. A budget of $1000 will be needed for next year’s newsletters.
3. Doug found out that a newsletter with an odd number of pages will cost extra to produce.
4. The newsletters will go out regular first class postage.
5. The return address listed on the newsletters is listed as Doug Bloss’ address.
6. Doug requested information about our data base from Heidi Glanzman. Heidi indicated that there were 200+ names in the newsletter data base. Doug will request a list of those names.
Social Committee- Presented by Barbara Letcher
- Barb is looking into a wine tasting event at “House Wine.”
Treasurer’s Report-Presented by Rita Woeste
- Before reimbursements and expenses we have $4100 in the checking account.
- We owe $360 for basketball tickets
- After expenses/reimbursements are paid we will have approximately $3600 in checking.
- Tom Hone made a donation of $1000.
Alumni Recognition- we needed to recognize alumni and follow up on membership.
Voting- a motion was made to approve a budget of $500 for the 2010 newsletter. The motion was seconded. The motion passed. This funding will need to come from the checking account since it was not pre-approved prior to printing.
Next meeting will be January 22, 2011. This will be in Scholars’ East at 7:00p.m. If you can not attend please e-mail both Paula and Susan with your reports. If you are attending the next meeting, please bring a copy of your budget for the secretary’s
